Javier Garcia-Lacalle is a PhD Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Zaragoza (UZ). He has taught courses in financial economics and accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration since 2007. His dissertation received the Social Sciences PhD Award of the UZ in 2010. He has been a Visiting Researcher at the Universities of Edinburgh (UK), Utrecht (The Netherlands) and Bristol (UK). His research is focused on the study of the assessment of the performance of public sector entities and on the implementation and usefulness of corporate governance mechanisms, both in the public and the private sectors. He belongs to the GESPUBLICA research team, under the leadership of Lourdes Torres and Vicente Pina.
